Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerating industrialisation in Osun State through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, as part of broader efforts to attract both local and international investors.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of Chinese investors in Osogbo, the governor outlined key reforms implemented since 2022 to enhance the ease of doing business across the state. He noted that these policies were designed to create a more investor-friendly environment and stimulate economic growth.

According to him, the state government has harmonised tax administration to eliminate multiple taxation, a move aimed at reducing the financial burden on businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises.

He further disclosed that the government has digitised tax payment systems and introduced a one-stop investment platform to streamline processes and improve service delivery for investors.

Governor Adeleke also highlighted institutional reforms, including the upgrade of the state investment agency to ensure faster response times and improved engagement with business stakeholders.

In addition, he emphasized efforts to remove bureaucratic bottlenecks in obtaining business permits, stating that strict timelines have been enforced across key ministries, including commerce and land administration.

A major highlight of the reforms is the enforcement of a 45-day timeline for processing Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O), which the governor said has already recorded measurable success among residents and investors.

He directed relevant ministries to sustain the implementation of this policy, warning against delays and encouraging affected individuals or businesses to escalate complaints through appropriate government channels if necessary.

The governor also noted the revival of previously inactive free trade zones, stating that several companies have already begun securing positions within the zones as part of renewed investment interest.

He commended traditional leaders, including Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, for their role in promoting investment opportunities and supporting economic development initiatives in the state.

Earlier, the leader of the Chinese Prodigy Group of Companies, Mr. Chi, confirmed the company’s interest in expanding operations to Osun State, citing its presence in multiple states across Nigeria.

He stated that the company, which produces doors, bolts, nuts, and related materials, is prepared to establish a manufacturing facility in the state once land acquisition processes are finalised.

The delegation also expressed interest in exploring opportunities within the state’s free trade zones, describing the investment climate as encouraging.
