Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His death was confirmed by a representative for his family.
The family has asked for privacy following the death. Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and Rande Gerber, said the family was going through a difficult and painful period.
The cause of Gerber’s death has not been announced. An autopsy had also not been completed at the time of the initial reports, meaning further information could emerge as the medical examiner’s investigation continues.
Gerber was born in California in 1999 and entered the modelling industry as a teenager. He was signed by IMG Models at the age of 15 and later worked with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino and Celine.
He was the only son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber.
In recent years, Presley had spoken publicly about personal struggles involving mental health, addiction and recovery. He also used social media to discuss his experiences and encourage conversations around mental health.
