The Benue governor praised the First Lady’s interventions in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment and support for vulnerable Nigerians.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, commending her humanitarian activities and social interventions across the country.
In a birthday message issued on Monday, September 21, Governor Alia described the First Lady as a figure whose humanitarian activities and public service efforts had continued to reach different groups of Nigerians.
The governor specifically highlighted the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), through which programmes have been directed towards women, young people, widows, orphans, senior citizens and other vulnerable members of society.
Alia also pointed to initiatives focused on economic empowerment, particularly assistance for petty traders and small-scale entrepreneurs. According to the governor, such programmes provide opportunities for beneficiaries to strengthen their livelihoods and support their families.
The Benue governor further acknowledged interventions associated with healthcare and education, including medical outreaches, support for communities affected by violence, assistance to elderly citizens, maternal health advocacy and efforts promoting HPV vaccination.
He also referenced initiatives aimed at improving menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls and supporting young people through skills acquisition and other educational opportunities.
Alia expressed particular appreciation for assistance extended to communities affected by armed attacks and other difficult circumstances in Benue State. He said such interventions had provided support to people facing challenging conditions.
The governor said efforts directed at keeping girls in school, expanding opportunities for young Nigerians and developing skills were important aspects of investing in human capital.
He wished the First Lady continued guidance, strength and wisdom as she carries out her activities, while praying for many more years of good health and fulfilment.
The birthday message was signed by Sir Tersoo Kula, mnipr, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State. The message formed part of tributes from Nigerian public figures and organisations marking Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s 66th birthday.
