The high-level meeting was held on the sidelines of the summit and focused on strengthening cooperation between government institutions, football authorities, and the private sector in Nigeria and across Africa.

According to officials present at the engagement, discussions centered on the role of sports development in driving economic growth, youth empowerment, investment opportunities, and regional integration across the African continent.

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at improving football infrastructure, talent development, sports administration, and commercial partnerships within African football.

Observers noted that football continues to play a significant role in Africa’s economic and social development, with governments and private investors increasingly showing interest in sports-related investments and development initiatives.

President Tinubu and Dr. Motsepe reportedly discussed broader strategies capable of supporting sustainable growth in African football while encouraging stronger cooperation between public institutions and business stakeholders.
