Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has responded to Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, following comments made by the singer concerning the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
Davido, who has been supporting the political campaign of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, had called on political actors to allow a peaceful and credible election process, urging that the people of Osun State should be allowed to choose their preferred leader.
Reacting to Davido’s remarks through his Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, Governor Uzodimma criticised the singer’s comments and said the appeal should be directed to the people of Osun State, who would ultimately determine the outcome of the election through their votes.
In a further remark, Uzodimma’s aide took a swipe at Davido, saying that if his uncle loses the election, the singer should prepare to sign him as a dancer in his music band.
