Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu, arguing that many of the challenges facing the country existed before the current administration.
Anuku made the remarks during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he discussed the Tinubu administration and the criticism directed at the president.
The actor said Nigerians should allow the president more time to implement his policies, stressing that Tinubu did not create all the problems confronting the country.
“Nigerians should be patient with Tinubu because he’s doing great, we’re too much in a hurry. The country was not spoilt by him, there were people before him,” Anuku said.
He questioned why previous administrations were not subjected to the same level of criticism, maintaining that Tinubu inherited problems that had accumulated over several years.
Anuku also expressed support for Tinubu completing his constitutional tenure and argued that there was no certainty that a future administration would perform better.
The actor further said he was not being paid to speak positively about the president or his administration.
His comments have generated discussion online, with reports noting reactions from Nigerians following the circulation of the podcast video.
The remarks come amid continuing public debate over the performance of the Tinubu administration and the economic and social challenges facing Nigerians.
