Nigerian disc jockey, recording artiste and music producer Opeyemi Oladipupo Soidiq, professionally known as DJ OP Dot, has secured another major recognition after being named DJ of the Year at the 2026 Golden Stars Awards.
The award adds to the entertainer’s growing record of recognition within Nigeria’s music and entertainment industry, where he has built a career that extends beyond disc jockeying into music production, recording and entertainment business.
The 2026 Golden Stars Awards ceremony was held on July 25 at Watercress Hotels & Events in Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together personalities and professionals from different areas of the entertainment sector.
DJ OP Dot’s latest honour reflects his continued presence in Nigeria’s competitive DJ scene, where performers increasingly combine live entertainment with music production, digital releases and collaborations with recording artistes.
His career has included a number of notable releases and collaborations, with “Gbemidebe,” featuring Qdot, emerging as one of the projects associated with his rise in the industry. The song was released in 2022 and received radio exposure across several Nigerian stations.
The entertainer has also received recognition at previous award events. His earlier honours include the DJ of the Year award at the 2022 Ijebu Vogue Awards, followed by a Best DJ Mix with Promotions recognition at the same awards platform in 2023.
In 2025, DJ OP Dot continued his run of industry recognition with the release of “Believe,” featuring Rybeena. He was subsequently honoured as DJ of the Year at the De Thrills Music Awards in Port Harcourt.
