The Defence Headquarters has announced the arrival of approximately 100 United States military personnel and associated equipment at Bauchi Airfield, marking a new phase in bilateral security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.
According to the DHQ, the deployment includes both personnel and logistical equipment intended to support ongoing security collaboration and operational training within Nigeria’s defense framework.
Military officials stated that the arrival forms part of structured cooperation agreements between the Nigerian Armed Forces and the United States, aimed at strengthening counterterrorism capacity, intelligence sharing, and technical support.
The United States military team is expected to engage in joint exercises, advisory roles, and operational coordination with Nigerian security forces. Authorities emphasized that the presence is within approved defense protocols.
