Nigerian music stars David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and Erhiga Agarivbie, professionally known as Erigga, have become the focus of widespread social media discussion following a heated exchange over family wealth, personal struggle and success in the Nigerian music industry.
The conversation began after Erigga shared a post on X praising musicians who had built their careers without coming from wealthy families and had worked for the money they earned. Erigga did not mention Davido or any other artiste by name in the original post.

As reactions continue across social media, the Davido-Erigga exchange has become another example of how conversations among prominent Nigerian entertainers can quickly expand into national debates about wealth, opportunity and the meaning of being self-made.
