A magistrate’s court in Kano State has ordered the remand of a man, Musa Umar, over his alleged involvement in the killing of Saminu Haruna Tudun Bojuwa following a dispute over motorcycles reportedly donated by a politician.
Umar was arraigned before Magistrate Hauwa Abba Musa at Magistrates’ Court No. 27 in Nomansland, Kano, on charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
During the proceedings, the prosecutor, Barrister H. M. Ado, informed the court that a fresh charge had been filed and requested that it be read to the defendant. The court clerk, Muhammad Tudun Wada, subsequently read the charges.
According to the allegations presented in court, Umar and another person who was not before the court conspired to stab Tudun Bojuwa with a knife, resulting in his death.
The alleged incident reportedly followed a disagreement over the sharing of motorcycles said to have been donated by a politician. The individuals involved were reportedly disputing the allocation of a motorcycle they believed had been jointly given to them.
Following the arraignment, the court ordered Umar’s remand in a correctional facility and adjourned the matter until November 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
The allegations remain subject to judicial determination. Umar’s remand does not amount to a conviction.
